Above The Line Article:
"What
are you trading in the
Truth for?"
By Erik Carlson
I
am still on fire from the Thrive
conference I spoke at last
month. I was speaking on Living
Above the Line, and one theme
I kept coming back to was that
whenever we fall below the
line, and STAY below the line, it is because
we are trading in the Truth for something. When
you find yourself falling below the line, and
can't
figure out why, ask your self "what am
I trading in the Truth for?."
I
like to refer to my above the
line/below the line diagram
found in my special
report,
and if you look at the key words that
are below the line; words like 'habitual
stress', 'fatigue', 'chaos', 'paralysis',
etc., these are devastating
conditions that keep us from
reaching our maximum Godly
potential. For me, when I let
life's
circumstances lead me to one
of these below-the-line words,
it is because I'm trading in the
Truth of having faith that
God will never leave me or
forsake me, and that I am worthy
of his Love and Grace. You
mean to say, Erik, that you
lose faith in God's
promises? Yes, I do. I'm
trading in that truth for my
own fears.
A breakthrough moment
for me was hearing a speaker
named Brennan Manning captivate
2500 people. He had us all
be silent while we experienced
the love of God fall on us. Christ didn't
die for us so that we could
behave perfectly, never cuss
or drink or sin. In Brennan's
words, He died for us "because He loves
us; just as we are, not as
we should be".
That was enough to cause me
to weep. That is one truth
I don't
want to trade in for the world.
Let's have
relentless pursuit of the Truth,
and we will all live victoriously
above the line!
